Rockport Poetry wants to invite you to celebrate the spoken and written word. We are situated on the tip of Cape Ann along the beautiful granite North Atlantic shoreline in the small town of Rockport, Massachusetts.

We are committed to nature, hard work, and culture. Here there are magnificent galleries, a world class concert hall, an art house cinema, and many literary greats have blessed the area including: Bradstreet, Hawthorne, Emerson, Thoreau, Whittier, Longfellow, Kipling, and Eliot... to drop a few names.

ROCKPORT POETRY OPEN MIC
Rockport Poetry Open Mic seeks to encourage the writing and reading of poetry as an actively supported art form in the Rockport, Cape Ann, North Shore community... and beyond. It is a comfortable forum for connecting with kindred spirits, as well as sharing poems and ideas. In addition will it also serve as a reference source for events and workshops and writer's resources.
Rockport Poetry Open Mic is intended to be a safe space for the development of strong voices and poets of all ages and backgrounds. Come to read your poems (or have others read them if you prefer). Or just visit to listen and enjoy a feast of words.

NOTE: During Covid-19 we had been meeting virtually via ZOOM. This gave us the chance to become international and we want to stay connected with our global friends. So we'll always have our open mic on Zoom the second Wednesday of every month. You can view the posted invite by joining the group on the Rockport Poetry Facebook Page and/or receive an invite by joining our mailing list by sending your request to RockportPoetry@gmail.com .

Whenever possible, we will present live readings. However, because of our close association with the Gloucester Writers Center we're happy to coordinate with their live open mic on the first Monday of every month.

ROCKPORT POETRY FESTIVAL

Rockport Poetry Festival is an annual festival scheduled during April, National Poetry Month. It is a full day of events celebrating poetry and the spoken word.
It features contemporary poets from Rockport, Cape Ann, the North Shore, Regionally, Nationally, and Internationally.
